HI, 'Scuze delay--here are the Fictionary results for Hurley. Not too many folks submitted defs or voted, but we are all so busy. Hope some--or all-- of you had a great vacation. Coming in second with 2 votes, is Hutch's def of a Women's Field Hockey term. First, is Fran's def of the rope sling for livestock for 6 points. Take it away, Fran! Oh first, a Hurley is a special stick used in the Irish game of Hurling. It's made of ash wood, is usually between 45 and 100 cm --18-40 inches, has a flattened, curved end, and is also called a caman, with an accent over the last A. It is used to hit a sliotar, a leather ball. Once David and I were taught the game of hurling by a kid at a playground in Ireland. The kid had a fake Hurley, made of straight wood. My husband is a good athlete, but found it hard to hit the ball with such a skinny stick. Oh, Pierre's squirrel target got one vote from David Randall. LInda PS Fran, Try not to take as long as I did to get the next round going if at all possible.
