Charivari shot down - how about Zareba?

Charivari has been spotted by Pierre as being "shivaree" in disguise,
and David Randall described it pretty well.  For you non-hillbillies: a
noisy mock serenade (made by banging pans and kettles) to a newly
married couple - or - A mock serenade of discordant noises, made with
kettles, tin horns, etc., designed to annoy and insult.

So, anyone know the meaning of "zareba"?
