Dear All you wordsmiths: I have just been graced with a new granddaughter named Colwynne Fen Owens. Her dad (my son Greg) tells me that Colwyn Bay is at the north of Wales, a place he and Daphne spent some time after they were engaged. Anyway, I wonder if any of you linguists know anything about the name (either the masculine of feminine version), whether it is related to Colin or Colleen or ? in other languages, and if it has a mythological history (Greg and Daphne have been opera singers and they are very much into legends). Many thanks from Nana/Linda Owens PS My husband's grandfather Henry acquired the final "s" in Owens when he entered this country and he was not about to argue with immigration officials. He was actually Welsh, from Manchester, Eng.
