The first round of this email fictionary game was in November, 1994, when
Jim picked the word "shroff". See
(http://www.kith.org/logos/words/lower2/uuliginose.html) and the associated
word list at (http://www.kith.org/logos/words/fictionary/wordlist.html) for
a little more info. For "shroff," the people on the list were:

Ruth Alfasso
Jed Hartman
David Loebell
Elliott Moreton
Jim Moskowitz
David Randall
Stephen Sample
Melissa Shaner
Peter Wong

I don't have Jim's original mail that started the game, but I'm guessing
that he invited all of those people.

There was an almost year-long hiatus in '95-'96; MJD must've joined right
after the hiatus.

A quick who-am-I:

Jed Hartman. 34. Another one of them Swatties (class of '90). Former
writer of "Words & Stuff" column online; currently, tech writer at
Macromedia, and senior fiction editor at online speculative-fiction
magazine _Strange Horizons_. Haven't been an active fictionary player for,
ulp, a couple of years now, unfortunately. Still take a peek at how the
game's going every now and then. Originator, iIrc, of the 1-point/2-point
scoring system.
