Dear All, I was thinking of the wonderful soil near Allegheny College, in Western PA, 1/2 hour south of Erie, where my son Greg went.  He loved it!  Yes, oil was first discovered in nearby Oil City.  The soil is purpley-brown clay, and the oldest College buildings are crafted from the bricks made thereof.  Wm. McKinley is a famous student of the College, and he was expelled for putting a cow on the roof of one building  (since the cow could not go downstairs, they had to slaughter it on the roof.  Over a hundred years later they named the snack bar McKinley's.  Linda
