LIPOXENY BALLOT

Guidelines: As usual, assign 1 and 2 points to the defs of your choice.  Additionally, for fun, please guess who might have penned each def  (counts as tie-breaker, if needed).  I have sometimes used one or both defs sent in by participants, based on my own aesthetics and not with any other favoritism  (but if your alternate def was not used it might be a duplicate--or not), to provide you with a wide selection.  So if you are really lucky you can score big!   Please respond by Sunday at midnight!  Linda

 

Lipoxeny n. the ability of penguins to regulate the amount of blood circulation to their feet and flippers to maintain body temperature.  This adaptation provides for insulation from the cold in cold climates and for radiation of heat in hot climates.
