When traveling in Europe in summer '97, I used that pocket to carry one
tightly-folded bank-note in the largest common denomination for each
country as I visited it (so in case I was pickpocketed, I still had plenty
of emergency cash).
Two years later, spring '99, I happened to stick my finger in that pocket
in a pair of jeans I was wearing, and I felt something unexpected.
Indeed, it was a 200-franc note and a 100-mark note, which had survived
dozens of launderings completely intact, undisturbed, and forgotten!
