I prefer not to explain why I found the embankment funny.  Mostly it had to do with imagining funny reasons why you would build underwater embankments.

My husband is a gamer (he mostly plays WoW), so I learn my gamer slang from him.  Even more over-the-top is !!!!!!twelve!!!!!. Don't be fooled--While I can speak pidgin-geek, I can't code for s--t and I never game online.  I just like to be able to use the lingua franca of the day.  10 years ago I was "diesel" when I moved around heavy lab equipment and 15 years ago I was a "phat" student teacher. I'm just glad I don't have to deal with trying to spell (or pronounce) "djawn" anymore, which for awhile was equivalent to "thingy" among Philadelphia teens.  "kna-a-meen?" (know-what-I-mean?)was always at least easier to say!
