A co-worker came up with the idea of an obscure sin and I spent a
little time browsing the Catholic Encyclopedia for terms to make my
definition more realistic.

Passos: "(Or, more fully, Santos Passos) The Portuguese name locally
used to designate certain pious exercises, including representations
of the Sacred Passion, practiced annually during Lent at Goa and in
other Catholic communities in India"

The "Second Lateran Council" also called the "Tenth Ecumenical
Council" was held at the time I stated, but had nothing to do with
India. "The Second Lateran Council was held at Rome under Pope
Innocent II, with an attendance of about 1000 prelates and the Emperor
Conrad. Its object was to put an end to the errors of Arnold of

St. Isidore of Pesulium was a real saint who lived at the time I
stated <http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/08186a.htm>

I wanted it to be a sin that had been put forth long ago and then
gotten rid of almost as long ago. Elliott, how should I have phrased
it other than "promulgated" and "denigrated"?
