Yes, Pierre, several people did know emolument was a fee or salary.
However, since I do not encounter it in my daily life, I did not think it
was "common enough."  My mistake.  Try #4 is


COUVADE



Which will probably meet the same fate.  But sometimes a "common" word is
still unknown in our group...I recall "cerumen" used long ago in this game
by Melissa, which I now think of as "common enough" not to be a candidate
(if we hadn't already used it)
