Folks --
Sorry it's been a while, I've been out of town.
I've interpreted anyone's "two" point vote as meaning their *three*
point vote, since that's what y'all got this round. Also, Linda, I
hope I was right in interpreting your ballot as giving your big vote
to the scrimshaw.
Details below, the winner is David Randall. Go to!
--------------------------------------------------------
The real definition:
hatchment, n. A lozenge-shaped black plaque showing the arms of a
deceased person, usually suspended on the wall of the deceased
person's home.
See Wikipedia,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hatchment
where we have: "A Hatchment is a funeral escutcheon or armorial
shield enclosed in a black lozenge-shaped frame which used to be
suspended against the wall of a deceased person's house."
