Another idea -- inelegant though it is -- would be to run the 
fictionary list via some site that does free mailing lists and 
groups, like Yahoo or Google.  The downside is that we have no 
control, and no-one to yell at, if (when) things go wrong.  On the 
upside, then no-one has to take responsibility for maintaining the 
server, bounces, lost mail, downtime, etc.
