Okay, boys and girls: Here's the ballot for "polynya". We have a Last
Supper of choices: one true and a neat dozen false. Vote as usual: one
2-point selection and one 1-point selection. Tie-breaker points will
be given to poetry, jokes, etc if needed. Votes will be counted at the
end of the day next Tuesday, 2008 August 26.

polynya - n. - (fr. Russian) A stretch of open water surrounded by sea
ice, especially in Arctic seas.

polynya - n. - The administrative subdivision of an oblast in some
countries of the former Soviet Union.

folk tales.
