aver, n. [ā' vûr] - (northeastern U.S. collegiate slang) an undeserved
passing grade.  Possible coinage from A [letter grade] + over.

In case the funny letters don't make it through in the pronuciation,
that's a' with a bar over the a, and vur with a ^ over the u.
