My deepest apologies!  Life has been complicated.

The word is "septentrionalis".

Let's try this, since we have a very few people who know something 
about the word:
Give us the etymology AND a current definition.
Let me have it by Saturday, please, and I'll try to get the whole 
thing finished before I disappear again for 2 weeks.
