I used to think that "Owens", my last name since I married 42 years ago, was free from being turned into a "swear word", unlike most names that were vulnerable; but one day some tough little girls (4-6 years old) in our neighborhood sat on a railroad tie by the basketball hoop, their Big Wheels parked nearby, and chanted at my older boys: "Owens duh Wo-wens!" to their chagrin and embarrassment. Linda PS The name should be Owen without the S but was added as D's grandfather came through immigration at Boston. He was Welsh, and the immigration officer was probably Irish.

I usually hear "pownt" (p and t tacked onto "own"), or if people are
being silly, more like "punt". Similar to people who say "plix" or
"plox" to emphasize/mock the please -> plz -> plx shortening + typo.
I was unaware "poon" had a sexual connotation... I thought it was just
a nonsense word.
