[Fictionary] New Word=CLEM

Okay, I meant for the extra-credit coof def: in a separate def, use the word coof as if it were from a true story. We know coof means idiot, but use it in a sentence to illustrate why, eg, "That coof always puts the wrong colors together when he paints a house". Use a real or imagined source of the def, eg "Man Insults Palette of Neighbors, Channel 12 News". Meanwhile, for the real word, clem, add to the def a real or imagined source from an old novel. Give a def, a title, an author, and 25 words or less synopsis, such as "One of the three little pigs was named Clem". "Grimm Bros. Fairy Tales" "Clem and his brothers fight off the Big, Bad Wolf, with surprising results. A work-ethic lesson for slackers." Hope this helps. You have this week to come up with a selection. Linda

Linda,

I don't quite understand your "bonus points" offer: "a more specific
definition that shows *why* someone is a coof, or idiot" [emphasis
added]. A definition that shows WHY????

BB,
Hutch

> HI, all, several of you knew fustian or chalumeau, or at least came close to it.  So, I will go with CLEM.  It is from an old novel, so please give as references in your def, the name of an old novel, real or imagined, its author, and a short synopsis of 25 words or less.  Bonus points if you include, at the end, a more specific definition that shows why someone is a coof, or idiot.  Include references to a true story, please.  Thanks, Linda.  PS  Defs due sometime next week, before Easter, as I will be busy with family then.  I may extend it till after Easter, which seems a long way away, but, hey, it's spring at last!
