Linda, I thought that was pretty clever of you, since I recently moved to
Oregon from Pennsylvania and might have chosen an Oregon word.
Living in Oregon is linguistically interesting. Instead of going "down the
shore" as one does in PA and NJ, here people go "to the coast". And
marionberry isn't an infamous mayor, it's a special Oregon breed of
blackberry. And "hipster" isn't generally used as a derogatory term.
Instead of "snopocalypse" or "snowmageddon" we had "snowlandia." Also, here
people don't boo at sporting events, unless it is at the referees.
