Each word got at least two points. Only two definitions got more than two
points and they were in a dead heat until Jean-Joseph picked the right
word: the only voter to do so.

And with that, Jean-Joseph's interjection slips ahead of Pierre's
"anorthogonal" for the win.

J-J, take it away!

BB,
Hutch

murklins - conj. - [Radnorshire dial.] without
by David Randall - 2 points
Ranjit Bhatnagar: 2
Nicolas Ward: Where's Radnorshire?
David Randall: Everyone knows that in Radnorshire it is *marklins*.
J-J Cote: Conjunction! Kudos for a daring part of speech. But just kudos.
Pierre Abbat: The only language I know of which has a conjunction for
"without" is Lojban. The preposition is "secau", and any preposition can be
used as a conjunction by putting it in "i ... bo", thus "isecaubo".

murklins - adv. - In the view of some hearers, offensive to assert, and
simultaneously, in the view of others, offensive to deny; e.g., "The
Spratly Islands are murklins a part of the People's Republic of China".
by eLLioTT morEton - 2 points
Nicolas Ward: I kinda want to start using this one...
David Randall: 2 points, and the Metternich-Bretwalda award. [Ed. Note: I
get the "Bel Riose" reference, but what does "*apres moi le deluge*" have
to do with Egbert?]
J-J Cote: Adverb! Likewise.
Pierre Abbat: And in the view of the Australians, not worth the plastic the
paper money is printed on.

murklins - adj. - 1) Bonkers, as in the chaos created by the two-year old
twins was murklins. 2) Making a mistake in cribbage, as in the new player
didn't add up his points correctly, so his score was murkllns or nullified.
Liverpool dialect.
by Linda F. Owens - 2 points
Nicolas Ward: 1 point for cribbage. Will I get skunked?
J-J Cote: Hmm, the second one doesn't quite make sense. Is murklins what
you are when you screw up, or is it the retaliation?
Pierre Abbat: 1

murklins - adv. - In a tilted or anorthogonal manner. Said of buildings or
walls. (The house I live in was built murklins.)
by Pierre Abbat - 6 points
Linda F Owens: 2 points for anorthagonal, because one of my sons, who used
to work with dry-wall, complained of the way shoddy builders aligned walls
badly, expecting him to fix the look
Nicolas Ward: 2 points for sounding somehow realistic.
Fran Poodry: 2
J-J Cote: This is probably right, but it feels like it's being shoehorned
into an adverbial box when it seems more adjectival.

murklins - adj. - in the dark
by The Phrontistery - Compendium of Lost Words - F-M - 2 points
Nicolas Ward: Tempting...
David Randall: In the land of Murklins, where the shadows lie.
J-J Cote: 2 Despite the fact that it seems so close to "murky", I'm giving
this one two points.
Pierre Abbat: Murky
[Ed. Note: Oddly, I didn't connect it to "murk" until several days after I
had sent it out.]

murklins - interj. - Expression of dread at the anticipated success of an
underling.
by Jean-Joseph Cote - 5 points + 2 for correct vote = 7
Ranjit Bhatnagar: 1
Nicolas Ward: Heavens to murklins!
Fran Poodry: 1
David Randall: 1 point, and the Bel Riose award.
J-J Cote: Mine. I'm just picturing some hapless villain muttering,
"Murklins! Now my minion will want a pay increase!"
Pierre Abbat: 2

murklins - v. - To overclean, causing damage.
by Nicolas Ward - 2 points
Linda F Owens: one point for over-cleaning, what my one of my
daughters-in-law does.
J-J Cote: The one-point runner-up, even though I can't make a sentence with
it that doesn't sound totally weird.
