The word is...  cruque!

Get your defs in by next Thursday. 

A number of you knew that triton was a shelled sea creature, though I was going for the nucleus of a tritium atom (compare: deuteron). Pierre knew that anusvara is a diacritic mark indicating a nasal vowel in some Indian scripts. He also pointed out that shive was a past round, and one of its senses is very close to shide.
