    Pierre and Ranjit both recognized realgar and orpiment as minerals
    -- they are in fact both sulfides of arsenic, with orpiment being a
    pretty yellow and realgar a very beautiful gemlike red crystal.&nbsp; But
    both very soft.&nbsp; And toxic.<br>
