Fran, Nice to have you replying! What a great idea! Of course, the varnish would darken the colors--that's what they used to preserve old oil paintings, but over the centuries the varnish darkened the colors even more, so in restoration they have to remove the old varnish, fix anything, and add more new varnish--at least I think so. Linda PS My youngest son Greg used to restore art and make frames for valuable oils, so I should ask him. Lately, he teaches Special Ed and loves it. More later, when I find out.
---------- Original Message ----------
From: Fran Poodry <fpoodry@gmail.com>
To: "lindafowens@netzero.com" <lindafowens@netzero.com>
Cc: "fictionary@swarpa.net" <fictionary@swarpa.net>
Subject: Re: [Fictionary] Easy to be Nard?
Date: Mon, 25 Nov 2013 09:25:49 -0800

I notice a lot at the beach, when collecting pretty wet rocks, that they fade when I get them home and let them dry. This goes not only for light vs dark, but for colors, too.
