First off, thanks to Harvard Extension, for teaching me some geology
and letting me win that last round. Mafic! Isn't that a great word?

This round's word is . . .

    hurds

Definitions are due in a week, by close of business Monday, 10
September 2007. Or, if you know the word, let me know in the next
two days. Don't be shy, I have a backup.

All entrants are requested to submit, along with their definition, a
haiku exemplifying that def.

    Air cools, brows furrow,
Leaves fall and blow, hurds skip at
    Edges of our thoughts.

(That is not a clue.)

Enjoy!
