Hi,

I'm sending this message to all of the email addresses I could find in the 
past three years or so of my saved fictionary at plover.com emails. 
Apologies in advance to anyone whose is getting multiple copies; I judged 
it more important to make sure that you got the message.  Apolgies also to 
anyone who has problems with the long "To:" list, but I think it's 
important that we all have each other's email addresses.

Email to fictionary at plover.com has been disappearing:  When I send a 
message (I am the current wordmeister), it doesn't bounce, but listmembers 
don't get it.  I first noticed the problem on Jan. 12th.  I emailed 
postmaster at plover.com about it on the 17th.  I received no answer, but the 
list was working normally on Jan. 23rd.  However, it was down again on 
Jan. 30th, and all of my attempts to use it since then have failed in the 
same way.  Jean-Joseph was kind enough to supply me with two phone numbers 
for a "Mark J. Dominus" in Philadelphia, from whitepages.com.  One, listed 
as a business number, turned out to be the Something Quarter Club (``All 
of our operators are assisting other members right now''---with what, I 
wouldn't venture to speculate), the other, listed as a home number, got a 
recording saying it had been disconnected.

(1) Does anyone out there have any idea what is the matter, or how to get 
ahold of mjd without going through plover.com?

I hope this just turns out to be a temporary glitch with plover.com, and 
that we can soon complete the OWLING round.  (I'm still accepting ballots, 
by the way, since I wasn't able to send out the final reminders.)  But if 
not, we'll need to implement the Continuity of Fictionary Plan, which 
means we'll need to make that plan.  So:

(2) If fictionary at plover.com is permanently down, we will need to look for 
new diggings elsewhere.  To do that, we will need a list of current email 
addresses of listmembers, which we can't get from plover.com because it's 
down.  I hereby volunteer to collect those email addresses.

   *  If you have *left* fictionary at plover.com and do not want to be 
included on any new list, please let me know that.
   *  If you are receiving this message more than once, please let me know 
so that I can delete unwanted duplicate addresses.
   *  If you know any *lurkers* who are on the list, but who do not send 
mail to the list (and hence whose email addresses my harvesting pass would 
not have found), please direct them to me.
