HI, many of you knew analemma, that figure-8 thing on a map or globe that tracks the sun's path. I was fascinated by a display at the Oakland, CA, Air Museum on our vacation last week, but you are too smart for me. As for flam, many of you knew it as a drumstroke, but not technically, as in the two sticks hitting the skin just a tiny bit apart in time, so that the stroke sounds louder or more emphatic. I did not know coof as inane or stupid, as Wiktionary says, but as something else indeed; I may use it later if all else fails, so no looking it up just yet, please.
The new words I propose are the following: fustian, clem, knobstick, crocket, knobber, and chalumeau. If you know any of them, let me know ASAP. Back to you all soon, Linda
